The reason why the transformer core needs a little grounding when it is normal

Transformer core grounding reasons:
When the power transformer is in normal operation, the core must have a reliable grounding. If there is no grounding, the suspension voltage of the core to the ground will cause the core to intermittently break through the discharge, and the core is grounded to eliminate the possibility of forming the core suspension potential. However, when the iron core is grounded at two or more points, the uneven potential between the iron cores will form a circulation between the grounding points, causing the multi-point grounding heating fault of the Transformer core. The core grounding fault of the transformer will cause local overheating of the iron core. In severe cases, the local temperature rise of the iron core increases, the light gas moves, and even an accident that will cause heavy gas action and trip.
The sintered local iron core forms a short-circuit fault between the iron chips, which causes the iron loss to become large, which seriously affects the performance and normal operation of the transformer, and must be replaced with the iron core silicon steel sheet for repair. Therefore, the transformer does not allow multi-point grounding to have only one ground and only one point.

 


The scope includes:
1) Multiphase short circuit inside the transformer.
2) Short circuit between turns, the winding is shorted to the core or the case.
3) The core is faulty.
4) Oil will leak under the surface.
5) Poor contact of the tap-changer or weak wire bonding.
The difference between the main transformer and the gas protection is different.
1. The main transformer differential protection is designed and manufactured according to the principle of circulating current, and the gas protection is designed and manufactured according to the characteristics that the internal fault of the transformer will generate or decompose the gas.
2. Differential protection is the main protection of the transformer, and the gas protection is the main protection when the internal fault of the transformer.
3. Different protection scope: A differential protection:
1) Multi-phase short circuit occurs in the main transformer lead-out line and the transformer coil.
2) Single-phase severe inter-turn short circuit.
3) Protect the coil and ground faults in the high current grounding system. B gas protection:
1) Multiphase short circuit inside the transformer.
2) Short circuit between turns, short circuit between turn and Transformer core or outside.
3) Core failure (heating burn).
4) Oil will leak under the surface.
5) Poor contact of tap changer or wire soldering
